Chapter 67: How to not regenerate the cycle of death
At one time, the Buddha lived in the Garden of Solitude in the Gion Grove of the Acropolis. One day, the Buddha said to his monks, "Disciples, if you think and plan to do anything in your heart, and if there is a tendency to produce or have problems in your heart, karma will have a basis for existence and continued accumulation and development. That is, all physical actions, speeches, and inner thoughts, the accumulation of various results and results that will be borne in the future, but the accumulation has not yet occurred, and there are concrete results of bearing the results. When a certain amount is accumulated, it will bear the various results and consequences caused by previous actions, words, and thoughts. For example, doing good deeds will accumulate the results of receiving good rewards in the future, doing evil deeds will accumulate the results of receiving evil rewards in the future, and when these actions, words, and thoughts of doing good deeds accumulate to a certain amount, the results of bearing good results will occur and appear. When these evil deeds, words, and thoughts accumulate to a certain amount, they will occur and suffer the consequences of evil. The reservoir for future results and results caused by accumulating actions, words, and thoughts is called "karmic knowledge." Of course, this accumulator is a metaphor, because the creation of various actions, words, and thoughts must accumulate to a certain amount to lead to future results and results, much like the function of the container.
When "karmic knowledge" has a base, this "karmic knowledge" has a place to rely on, a foothold. When "karmic knowledge" continues to accumulate and grow in the base, it will lead to the existence of future lives, leading to continued rebirth and regeneration in the future. When the future is really reborn and really reborn into the world, then because it has already been born in the world, there will be depression, worry, sadness, pain, despair, aging, death, being born again in the world, and it will be repeated in the troubles and pains of joy, anger and sorrow, and so on, endless suffering and sinking. This is the process by which the troubles and sufferings of people and beings in the world gather and appear.
Disciples, if the heart does not think or plan to do anything, but there is still a tendency to produce or produce problems in the heart, then "karma" will still have a basis for existence and continued accumulation and development. When "karmic knowledge" has a base, this "karmic knowledge" will still have a place to rely on, and there will still be a foothold.
Disciples, if the heart does not think or plan to do anything, if there is no cause of disturbing thoughts in the heart, and there is no tendency for disturbing emotions to arise, then "karmic knowledge" will have no basis for existence and continued cumulative development. When "karmic knowledge" has no base, this "karmic knowledge" has no place to rely on, and there is no foothold. Then "karmic knowledge" will not continue to accumulate and grow, it will not lead to the existence of future lives, and it will not lead to continued rebirth and regeneration in the future. When the future is not reborn and reborn into the world, then because it is not born in the world, there will be no depression, worry, sadness, pain, despair, aging, death, will not be born in the world again, and will not be repeated in the troubles and pains of joy, anger and sorrow, etc., endless suffering and sinking. Birth, depression, worry, sadness, pain, despair, aging, and death are completely destroyed, and this is the process of completely destroying and destroying the troubles and sufferings of the worldly people and all living beings. In this way, if you practice it, you will not regenerate the cycle of death, and you will be forever free from the troubles and sufferings of the cycle of life and death. ”
After the Buddha's teachings, the monks who listened to the teachings all paid homage to the Buddha again, praising the immeasurable merits of the Buddha's teachings, and they all practiced according to the Buddha's teachings.
