Chapter 30: How to Be Truly Harmless?

Once, when the Brahmin came to the Buddha's residence, after paying homage to the Buddha, he sat down and said to the Buddha, "Venerable, my name is Buharm, please explain it for me." ”

The Buddha said, "Brahmin, your name is not harmful, what is true harmlessness? That is, physical behavior to do good deeds, mouth good words, good thoughts arise in the heart, do not harm others This is the real harm, if you can really do physical behavior, oral speech, the thoughts generated in the heart do not harm others, then you are as the name is, you are truly harmless. ”

At this time, the Buddha said:

"If it is like his name, he is not harmful.

However, it does not harm the body, mouth and heart.

He who does not harm others does not harm in the name of the other."

After the Buddha said, he said to the Buddha without harming the Brahmins: "Venerable, what you said is so good, I will try to be a veritable Brahmin who is not harmful, thank you for speaking for me, please let me take refuge in you and be your disciple at home, I am willing to practice according to your Dharma, I am willing to accept the precepts you have set." ”

The Buddha accepted refuge without harming Brahmins.
